Training and development of human resources in the field of education

A very important component within the reform process run by the Ministry of Education and Research is to train and develop human resources in the field of education, with the following objectives pursued:

1. Professional development of teachers in the rural areas through the provision of continuous training for 2000 unqualified teachers from the rural area.

2. Development and strengthening of the continuous training programmes market, based on a fair competition system, doubled by the re-correlation of continuous training and initial teacher training.

3. Extending the TIC competences of teachers by training some 5000 new teachers to use these technologies.

4. Professional development of the school manager career by virtue of emphasizing the decentralization of school education system.

5. Drawing up a programme of new school didactics and pedagogies within a student focused education system.

6. Drawing up a Professional Ethics Code for teachers.

7. Reviewing the structure and initial training programmes for teachers in line with the reform of higher education studies (Bologna Process).

These measures will benefit more than 7 000 teachers and 2 000 head teachers (school managers). The deadline for carrying these actions out is 20 December 2005.
